seems to be made well,so far no wires coming off,but had to add balancing discs because they vibrated alot. thats why not 5 stars

I've had hundreds of wire wheels, and getting stabbed by flying wires was the normal operating condition.. no longer !! thisting is AWESOME!
does a great job and doesn't fly apart like th others !

Installed this on an old craftsman bench grinder that someone gave me. It had two stones on it but I wanted a wire wheel. It does work but rubs the sides and causes drag. It will most likely be better once it wear down some.
It did throw a few bristles the first few times using it so make sure to cover your face or at least your eyes.

runs balanced but has got some long and wild wire sticking out in all directions, requires some trimming to make it spin freely without rubbing on shields of the grinder

With twisted thick .023 wires, and heavy US-made construction, this removes rust and paint, prepares parts for welding and doesn't take long doing it. I was not shot with with loose wires and it does not vibrate or seem out of round.
My 8" grinder has one HP and it doesn't bog down with that.
Not cheap, but so much better than my old and less aggressive wheels that simply were not getting the job done. I think it will last a long time as well, so glad I have it now.

I need to remove heavy rust from steel plating and tubing as well as excess zinc from coarse all-thread rods. Finer wire does a neat job of cleaning, but does not dig into the deep rust and zinc build-up, even with repeated passes. However, this coarse twist knot brush will "chew" through the softer zinc on the steel rod almost too quickly, so use light pressure. The heavy rust is no problem. Now that I have at least 15 hours of use on this wire wheel, the ends of the knots and gauge of the end wires have relaxed slightly. This is a plus because the aggressiveness is more controllable. The overall radius has worn approximately 1/4", which is expected and a testimony to the strength of the wire. As with any wire wheels, you will get break-off wires; and with the heavy gauge of this wire, be prepared for a periodic sting. I would recommend a face shield, particularly for the first hour or so of use.

I've got an 80V Cobalt weedwacker that I was able to mount this onto. It makes it a bit heavy, but I've got a big yard with a lot of growth between a crop of trees in an area that's got rocks and bricks in the ground, so I needed something heavy duty. This definitely does the trick without chewing through all my string.
